Bucks Plan – Have Your Say

Bucks Council published their Local Plan targeting 95,000 new houses to be built by 2045. Four sites have been identified in Shabbington with a total of 50 houses. You can have your say about this and we tell you how to here.

Objections to the Plan are only invited in relation to:

  • Positively prepared i.e appropriate process has been followed which follows national guidelines
  • Justified i.e. has the right strategy been adopted in relation to the evidence
  • Effectiveness – Can the development and the associated infrastructure be delivered
  • Consistent with National Policy – The Govt has a National Planning Framework which steers the Local Plan process.

The only way to make your voice heard is online which means registering on the Bucks Planning website and completing a form prepared by Opus Consult. Where you see a paper clip a mouse click will take you to the web page being described.  The filing cabinet contains notated screenshots of what you will see as you respond. Handy if lose your way

A quick Google of  “buckinghamshire.oc2.uk” will open the Planning Landing Page

The next stage is to register because you will not be allowed to enter your response without doing so. You will see the familiar Login | Register at the top right corner of the landing page so click on Register and follow the instructions.  Enter your email address and you will then be sent a code to verify it. Enter the code in the Registration page, hit next and you will be invited to create a password and then go on to provide your contact details and after doing this and clicking on Next you will be returned to the Landing Page and a green banner will tell you that registration is complete and that you are logged in

Now the fun starts! Select “Draft Local Plan Regulation 19 Document” and it will take you to the next page with the first entry being Chapter 1 – Introduction.  Scroll down and you will see a green box saying “Comment” which you should select

The next page gives you 2 questions with Yes and No buttons.  You should select Yes for the First and No for the second otherwise you will not be allowed to proceed further You will then be asked for your comments.

In forming your comments the following may be helpful:

Sample Answers Summary:

Has not been positively prepared:

Is Not Justified:

Is Not Effective:

Not Consistent with National Policy:

The Parish Council has outlined it’s objections in a briefing document

You can use any of these documents or parts of them to formulate your reply but try and add some of your own concerns about the proposals and real life examples as to how they may effect you.

After you have made your representations you can add documents as you think fit and the next page asks if you would like to participate at the Public Hearings.  Again answer as you wish but space will be at a premium and it is unlikely that even the Parish Council will be called individually.

Finally press submit and your response will be acknowledged on screen and by email.
